Paris Saint-Germain Edges Marseille in a Shootout to Claim French Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

PSG has now won the prestigious trophy on 14 separate times.

Paris Saint-Germain required a dramatic leveler followed by a successful spot-kick decider to overcome Marseille in the Gulf and secure a fourth straight French Super Cup victory.

The European champions seemed to be coasting towards a comfortable win in the match between the Ligue 1 champions and the French Cup holders after Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring early on.

Yet, Marseille struck twice in the closing moments to seize a shock lead. First, Mason Greenwood scored from the penalty spot, before Willian Pacho unfortunately directed the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a remarkable turn of fortune, Goncalo Ramos grabbed a vital leveler in the final seconds to force the contest into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then stood as the key figure, stopping decisive kicks from O'Riley and Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, Vitinha, the full-back, and Desire Doue all scored with composure for Paris Saint-Germain to seal a convincing penalty win.

The record winners Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Marseille after completing a league and cup double, have now won this trophy for the twelfth time in the past 13 seasons.
