I'll dominate 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming bout.
Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Difference
As both boxers engaged in the usual stare-down, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually proceeding.
